Nine Lives is based on a map called 1961 by vnekOnator. Due to the original 1961 being rather boring and bland in appearance, for some reason I thought it might be a good idea to reimagine it. The gameplay isn't the best, but I suppose part of the blame can be put on the original map, as Nine Lives inherently gets some of the questionable gameplay elements from it.
This floating map centers around a small room containing a lightning gun, yellow armor, and some health. A short walk from this room will take you to a ledge with a rocket launcher that overlooks an open platform outside. This platform holds a quad damage, health, and ammo. Most of the action occurs around these cramped areas. Connected to the main room are a few other platforms with various items on them, though these platforms are used less for fighting and more for gearing up and preparing. The gameplay gets kind of boring pretty fast, mostly due to the lack of variation. The visuals of this map are definitely an improvement over 1961, though the lighting is overall very dark, especially on the outskirts of the map.
Overall an interesting map, though in hindsight it probably didn't even need to exist in the first place.
